KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Responsible for the routine inspection and operation inclusive of start-up, shut-down, normal operation and abnormal operation of the following boiler, turbine and auxiliaries system:

a) Main Boiler
b) Boiler combustion system consists of coal feeders, coal mills, air heater, primary air fans, forced draft fans, induced draft fans, sealing air fans, cooling air fans and electrostatic precipitator (ESP)
c) Auxiliary Boiler System
d) Compressed Air System
e) Fuel Oil (System) including oil separator, oil unloading etc.
f) Lift
g) Fire Fighting System at your work area
h) Other boiler related equipment
i) Steam Turbine
j) Generator
k) Feedwater system which consists of condensate pumps, low pressure and high-pressure heaters, deaerator, drain pumps and feed water pumps
l) Lube oil system, including the lube oil classifier
m) Condenser
n) Industrial water and fire-fighting system
o) Ejectors
p) Oil Coolers
q) Generator Hydrogen Cooling System & H2 Oil Sealing System (if applicable)
r) Other steam turbine related equipment

• Performs equipment lube oil topping up and greasing
• Clears boiler coke at burner area
• Monitors and instructs Mill Attendant when and where necessary
• Switches on and off boiler area and turbine hall lighting when and where necessary to minimize electricity consumption
• Writes defect lists and to follow up on the rectification works
• Writes incident report
• Maintains operation log books as a detail and accurate records
• Briefs your shift successor on any events happened during your shift
• Maintains cleanliness and good housekeeping at work place and dining area
• Obeys all safety requirements
• Undertakes training as proposed and instructed by the management to enable upgrading when required
• Caretaker of equipment as assigned to you in the Work Performance Targets. Responsibilities include ensuring cleanliness of the equipment, ensuring every defect is registered and perform follow-up with Maintenance Department on defect rectification.
• Carries out relevant duties that may be assigned from time to time

QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Diploma/Certificate in Engineering from Polytechnic and Equivalent institutions
• Experience in power station or other related industries

SKILLS:

• Knowledge of the manuals, procedures and equipment used in the operation, maintenance and repair of steam boilers, steam turbine and auxiliary equipment.
• Knowledge of plant safety and accident prevention measures required for operating, maintaining and repairing all heating or power plant equipment.
• Knowledge of thermal power plant operation and its auxiliary equipments.
• Ability to read and write English and Bahasa Malaysia.
