About the Role



We are seeking an experienced

Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer

to provide advanced technical expertise and solution design for our solar equipment trading business. This role requires strong engineering knowledge, hands-on system sizing, and the ability to support clients in designing reliable solar solutions.

Key Responsibilities



Lead technical pre-sales activities for residential, commercial, and industrial solar projects. Design system configurations, prepare technical drawings, and BOMs for solar PV solutions. Advise clients and partners on the integration of inverters, BESS, rapid shutdown, optimizers, and controllers. Deliver in-depth product presentations, demonstrations, and technical workshops. Support RFQ, RFP, and tender processes with technical documentation and compliance reports. Work with EPCs, developers, and installers to ensure solution accuracy and technical soundness. Provide feedback to product management on market and customer requirements. Train junior pre-sales staff and sales team on technical aspects of products.

Requirements



Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or equivalent. 3-7 years of experience in solar system design, pre-sales, or solution engineering. Strong knowledge of PV design tools (PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or similar). Expertise in inverter selection, battery energy storage design, and system optimization. Familiarity with local solar regulations, utility connection guidelines, and SEDA requirements. Excellent problem-solving, presentation, and client engagement skills.

Preferred



Previous experience with a solar equipment distributor or EPC company. Certifications in solar PV design, inverter OEM training, or BESS system training. Ability to conduct technical workshops and trainings independently. Mandarin speaking will be added advantage. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the Superior/Senior Management team. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



1. Solution Design Quality (25%)



Design complete system solutions (PV, inverters, BESS, RSD, mounting)

Accuracy and completeness of system designs (inverters, BESS, RSD, optimizers, mounting). % of proposals delivered without design errors or rework. Target: ? 95% design accuracy.

2. Proposal & Tender Success Rate (20%)



Support complex tenders with detailed technical clarifications within deadlines.

% of proposals/tenders supported that convert into closed deals. Target: ? 30-40% conversion rate (depends on market and deal size).

3. Technical Support to Sales (20%)



Lead technical discussions, system sizing workshops, and demonstrations.

Timely delivery of technical documents, BOM, compliance checks. Number of client meetings / product demos supported per month. Target: ? 5 client engagements/month.

4. Training & Knowledge Sharing (15%)



Conduct training sessions for sales team, customers, and partners on product/application. Target: At least 1-2 training sessions/quarter.

5. Innovation & Solution Improvement (10%)



Provide feedback to product team on customer needs & competitor gaps. Develop solution templates, case studies, and product application notes. Target: ? 2 solution enhancements/quarter.

6. Collaboration & Project Handover (10%)



Lead technical handover to EPC/project teams.

Smooth coordination with EPCs, developers, and installers. Successful technical handover to project/delivery teams. Target: ? 90% projects handed over without major issues.

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
