Teachers will positively contribute to the community and support the strategic aims of the school. Requirements \xe2\x80\xa2 BA (Hons) in Primary Education, or \xe2\x80\xa2 Bachelors in the relevant subject area and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE) \xe2\x80\xa2 Primary Teaching Experience (ideally minimum 3 years) \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to teach across the primary levels and ability range \xe2\x80\xa2 High level of proficiency in Engilsh AND \xe2\x80\xa2 International experience: Desirable \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience of teaching the International Primary Curriculum: Desirable \xe2\x80\xa2 Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated teaching and learning, setting clear learning intentions and ambitious expectations for students, incorporating key content, skills, and concepts through a variety of learning activities \xe2\x80\xa2 Commit to knowing students and our context well, ensuring that learning can be personalised so students can take their own next step in their learning journey \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain and continually develop written schemes of learning, linked to Section and School development aims, which take account of our local and global context \xe2\x80\xa2 Continually look for opportunities for innovation, trying new teaching and learning strategies in the classroom, contributing to a culture of experimentation and risk-taking \xe2\x80\xa2 Demonstrate confidence in the use of learning platforms and technology, completing ongoing professional learning \xe2\x80\xa2 Set regular, meaningful, and appropriately challenging homework, according to school policy \xe2\x80\xa2 Positively manage behaviour in the classroom, involving Head of Section or pastoral staff where necessary \xe2\x80\xa2 Always promote the well-being of students, and proactively safeguard students according to school safeguarding policies and procedures, following them at all times. \xe2\x80\xa2 Liaise with Learning Support regarding provision of Individual Education Plans for students. \xe2\x80\xa2 Take responsibility for the development of English Support learners in the mainstream including undertaking further training and liaising with the English Support specialist teacher(s). \xe2\x80\xa2 Providing ongoing, formative assessment opportunities for students, using a variety of methods, so that timely and regular feedback can be given to students about their progress \xe2\x80\xa2 Allow for students to be active participants in their own learning, assessment, and reflection, creating a classroom culture where students can use criteria effectively to identify their own next learning steps \xe2\x80\xa2 Use baseline data effectively to measure progress for individual students, therefore informing teaching and learning choices and proactively personalising support \xe2\x80\xa2 Utilise practices that promote and model the highest of standards in academic integrity, always adhering to school policies \xe2\x80\xa2 Set and mark summative assessments in an accurate and timely manner. Ensure reporting, grading, and moderation practices are to a high standard, working with colleagues and Head of Section to adhere to School and Section practice \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide updates on individual progress to professional colleagues and parents as required Professional expectations \xe2\x80\xa2 Take responsibility for upholding health and safety practices, completing risk assessments/near misses or accident reports as appropriate \xe2\x80\xa2 Contribute to the development of the department \xe2\x80\xa2 Be involved in the delivery and organisation of special days, festivals, House events, assemblies, special focus Weeks etc \xe2\x80\xa2 Contribute to the provision of trips and expeditions \xe2\x80\xa2 Act as a Homeroom Teacher \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain excellent quality displays in classrooms and public areas which relate to the children\xe2\x80\x99s learning \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide exciting Extra Curricular Opportunities that meet the needs of our students \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide occasional cover for absent colleagues \xe2\x80\xa2 Attend Parent meetings throughout the year, providing parents and students with constructive feedback and next steps for learning. \xe2\x80\xa2 Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues \xe2\x80\xa2 Supervise students as part of a duty rota \xe2\x80\xa2 Supervise examinations, ensuring exam board regulations are adhered to \xe2\x80\xa2 Any other reasonable task assigned by the Head of Section, which may be unique to responsibilities of a specific Section or teaching role \xe2\x80\xa2 Any other reasonable task assigned by the Executive Principal or Assistant Principal Professional development \xe2\x80\xa2 Positively and constructively contribute to professional learning and collaborative development, and seek ambitious professional development opportunities \xe2\x80\xa2 Engage positively with coaching, mentoring, and performance management processes to promote professional growth \xe2\x80\xa2 Please note that Tunku Putra-HELP School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Tunku Putra-HELP School (TPH) is owned and managed by 3 parties including HELP Educational Services, which is part of the HELP Education Group, one of the leading education groups in Malaysia with over 30 years of experience and over 10,000 students in its various institutions. The school is in an exciting phase of development and expansion, where a new campus with state-of-the-art facilities opened in January 2020. Pupil numbers are rising and the school is building a strong reputation within Sarawak & Borneo. The School has a Kindergarten, that starts from age 3. Children can then either progress into the national section or the international section. All 5 sections or schools (national/international primary; national/international secondary) are housed on the same campus and staff work closely together. There is a house system that cuts across the whole school and a family atmosphere prevails. From January 2021 we are expanding our A level provision and welcome qualified teachers who look forward to a dynamic, engaging teaching experience in the beautiful, relaxed city of Kuching.
