Personal Learning Support (International Division)The educators are required to have:

ResponsibilitiesThe Mandarin Teacher responsibilities include, but are not limited to below:
  • All duty of care responsibilities stated in the Standard of Procedures (S.O.P)
  • All legal responsibilities as per the S.O.P.
  • Presenting a professional and committed staff member full of positivity.
  • Establish an effective and responsive classroom environment where children are active participants.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Observe children at play in order to assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of a child centered curriculum for both the indoor and outdoor learning environments.
  • Assist small group learning experiences.
  • Assist to support the positive development of children\'s social competencies.
  • Assist in routine care of children, including changing/checking of nappies four to five times per day. Nappy changing duties will be shared out and timetabled by the Homeroom Teacher between the Homeroom Teacher, Educational Assistant, Mandarin Head or Assistant Teacher and Student Teacher (must be supervised by Homeroom Teacher and Educational Assistant at all times).
  • Routinely maintain hygiene within the learning environment and to disinfect all toys on Tuesdays and Fridays - crockery, cups, pots, etc. that children put into their mouths that need to be disinfected at least twice a week.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all children\'s families.
  • Assist maintenance of material, resources, and equipment in the classroom.
  • Assist the professional documentation and display of children\'s work.
  • Support and maintain positive classroom relationships where all members of the class are respected and valued.
  • Pro-actively assist and support all school events and functions.
  • Work as an active and participatory team member.
  • Active participation and attendance of staff meetings.
  • Compulsory participation in ongoing professional development.
  • Participate in the Professional Development of necessary health check skills.
  • Read and sign all entrance, induction, learning goals, staff handbook and policy
  • documents (as per the S.O.P.).
The Personal Learning Support Teacher responsibilities include, but are not limited to below:
  • Provide assistance and support to children with Special Education needs, to be decided at the discretion of the Head of Inclusion
  • Manage behaviour of Special Education Needs (SEN) students in collaboration with classroom teachers and Head of Inclusion
  • Assessing students\' skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans in collaboration with classroom teachers and Head of Inclusion
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
  • Assist in the development of Personal Development Programmes (PDP) for each student on your timetable
  • Assist in planning, organising, and assign activities that are specific to each student\'s abilities
  • Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
  • Implement PDPs, assess students\' performance, and track their progress
  • Update PDPs throughout the school year to reflect students\' progress and goals
  • Discuss student\'s progress with parents, teachers, counsellors, and administrators
  • Supervise and mentor teacher assistants who work with students with learning difficulties
  • Create a safe, productive and positive classroom environment
