Core Responsibilities:

• Apply advanced chemistry knowledge and skills to design and execute experimental and analytical workstreams in PureCircle R&D projects
• Supervise 3rd party R&D activities, assess and validate 3rd party project deliverables
• Operate in-house chromatographic, spectroscopic and other analytical facilities
• Develop, conduct and validate new analytical methods and improve existing ones, carry out analysis (various matrices containing naturally occurring compounds, including plant material and F&B products)
• Support R&D team related to technical issues and investigation, participate in discussion with root causes and corrective action
• Conduct basic maintenance, diagnostic and troubleshooting of key analytical equipment
• Perform literature and patent search, review, analysis and feedback, including on newly emerging test methodologies and equipment
• Provide chemistry perspectives & support to projects
• Record and document all stages of R&D work, operate Lab information & knowledge management system (ELN etc.)
• Prepare reports and presentations
• Other assigned duties and responsibilities

Qualified candidates will have:

• MSc or PhD degree in chemical sciences field
• Applied knowledge in chromatography (HPLC, LCMS, GC, etc.) and other analytical techniques (UV/Vis, NMR, IR etc.)
• Knowledge of analytical, organic and process chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, naturally occurring compounds\xe2\x80\x99 extraction and purification methods including: chromatography, membrane separation, crystallisation, biotransformation and fermentation-based processes
• Fluent in English
• Resourceful, able to work under stress and to lead troubleshooting processes in the laboratory environment
• Self-motivated and results oriented, able to plan and execute tasks on a timely basis
• Experience in implementation and maintenance of MS ISO 17025 would be of added advantage
