Job Title: Printing Operations Technician Job Reports to: Director : Overview: The Printing Operations Technician plays a crucial role in the efficient and effective operation of printing equipment and associated processes. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in printing machinery and a basic understanding of design principles. The Printing Operations Technician ensures high-quality printed materials are produced while minimizing downtime and waste. Key Responsibilities: Machine Operation: Operate and maintain various printing machines digital printing press. Set up and configure printing equipment according to job specifications. Monitor the printing process to ensure quality and consistency. Material Handling: Load and unload paper, ink, and other printing materials. Ensure the proper storage and organization of printing supplies. Quality Control: Inspect printed materials for defects, such as color accuracy, alignment, and print quality. Make adjustments to the printing equipment as needed to maintain quality standards. Basic Design Tasks: Use graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) for basic design tasks, including layout adjustments, resizing, and color corrections. Collaborate with the design team to ensure print-ready files and materials. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with machinery. Coordinate with maintenance technicians for more extensive repairs. Safety, Hygience and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards. Inventory Management: Maintain inventory records for printing supplies and materials. Reorder supplies as needed to avoid production delays. Documentation: Keep detailed records of printing jobs, including materials used, production times, and any issues encountered. Provide reports and data as required. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in printing operations or graphic design is a plus. Proven experience in operating printing machinery. (Not Mandatory) Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva). Strong attention to detail and quality control. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Knowledge of safety protocols and industry regulations. Understanding of Basic colour theory.
