Scope

To support battery manufacturing processes in Sanmina Penang Plant II facility to meet manufacturing and new product deliverables. The person has to be very hands on with battery manufacturing processes such as: Plastic Ultrasonic welding, Resistance Welding, Metal Laser Welding, Low Pressure Molding (LPM), Heat Staking and Leak Test.

Responsibilities.

• Responsible to set-up the assigned processes such as: ultrasonic welding, resistance welding process, Laser welding, Heat staking and LPM process capability in Sanmina Penang Plant II manufacturing plant at New Product Introduction (NPI) stage to meet product launch requirements.
• Responsible to characterize and optimize the processes involved for new products to ensure process capability, stability and sustainability through a controlled process critical matrices and fixture designs.
• To be responsible to lead continuous improvements projects to improve quality & scrap cost for the assigned processes in Sanmina Penang Plant II manufacturing facility.
• To champion projects to further enhanced the process capability, stability and cycle time reduction through automation or new break through approach.
• Expected to be manufacturing process expert to provide inputs to design engineers at product design stage to ensure DFM as well as to provide guidance to group of technicians in solving day to day manufacturing issues.
• To work closely with suppliers for optimal process fixtures and tooling designs- eg. Ultrasonic welding horn, nest and resistance welding fixture design, Low Pressure Molding (LPM) Mould design and the laser welding fixture/clamping designs.
