Job Summary :
The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining die casting processes to ensure high product quality, efficient production performance, and safe manufacturing operations while driving continuous improvement and supporting new product introductions.
Job Responsibilities :
Process Development & Optimization
oEstablish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for die casting machines and related equipment.
oDefine, optimize, and monitor key process parameters such as injection pressure, temperature, cooling, and cycle time.
oConduct DOE, root cause analysis, and technical evaluations to improve casting quality and reduce defect rates.
oCollaborate with tooling engineers to enhance die design, prolong die life, and minimize issues such as flashing.
oAnalyze scrap rates, cycle times, and machine performance to increase throughput and reduce waste.
Production Support
oProvide technical guidance to operators and supervisors to resolve process and production issues.
oMonitor real-time production data to ensure adherence to quality and operational standards.
oLead corrective actions for defects including porosity, shrinkage, misruns, cold shuts, or surface flaws.
oTroubleshoot process and equipment failures to minimize downtime.
Continuous Improvement
oDrive Lean, Kaizen, and process improvement initiatives within the die casting area.
oImplement solutions to reduce scrap, energy consumption, and overall cycle time.
oTrack and report KPIs such as OEE, scrap percentage, and productivity improvements.
Safety & Compliance
oEnsure all die casting operations comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and internal policies.
oConduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures for safe machine operation.
Documentation & Reporting
oPrepare and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and technical analysis reports.
oTrack and present KPI performance, including OEE, cycle time, downtime, scrap rate, and cost-per-part metrics.
Job Requirements :
oDiploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
oMinimum 3 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
oFundamental understanding of plastic injection molding and die casting processes.
oExposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies is an added advantage.
oStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
oEffective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
oAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
oProficient in Microsoft Office, familiarity with CAD software is beneficial.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
