Job Description

Job Scope:

Set up and calibrate stamping presses, press brakes, punching, and grinding equipment by aligning tooling, changing offsets, verifying speeds/feeds and performing light preventive maintenance to ensure high uptime and quality. Read and interpret engineering drawings (2D/3D CAD, sample parts) to extract critical dimensions, tolerances, sequences, surface finishes and tooling specifications. Plan machining sequences and tool changes, optimizing set?up and interchange to reduce changeover time and maximize throughput. Use precision tools (calipers, micrometers, go/no?go gauges) to mark out workpieces and verify dimensions, immediately stopping production upon deviation. Log inspection data, trace defect sources, and implement corrective actions. Arrange rework or scrap as necessary and track scrap metrics to support continuous improvement Proactively identify bottlenecks or quality issues in the machining floor and execute process improvements such as cycle?time reduction, yield improvement, and waste minimization using lean tools Troubleshoot root causes of machine mishaps--tool wear, chatter, incorrect speeds/feeds, mis?setup--and collaborate with maintenance/technical teams to resolve equipment or tooling issues Maintain detailed production logs, inventory records of tooling and cutters, and update job travelers or electronic records accordingly Work cross?functionally with quality assurance, maintenance, CAD/CAM, and production teams to drive process consistency and support project planning and execution
