Job Description

This Process Engineer (Wave Soldering) role focuses on designing, optimizing, and maintaining wave soldering and conformal coating processes to ensure consistent, high?quality manufacturing outcomes. You will collaborate across engineering, production, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement and support new product introductions.

• Design, optimize, and validate wave soldering processes for new and existing products.
• Develop and maintain process control plans ensuring consistent and defect?free soldering performance.
• Conduct process qualification, validation studies, and machine capability analyses (Cp/Cpk).
• Troubleshoot soldering defects and maintain wave soldering equipment, including preventive maintenance and spare parts management.
• Inspect PCBs for solder quality and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-7351).
• Lead conformal coating process development-spray, selective coating, dip, and manual touch?up.
• Program, set up, and optimise selective coating equipment (e.g., Nordson, Asymtek, PVA).
• Support NPI activities, ensuring manufacturability and seamless transition to production.
• Provide training and technical support to technicians.
• Analyse process data and implement continuous improvements using SPC and MSA methodologies.

• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields (Diploma holders with strong hands?on experience will also be considered).
• Experienced in wave soldering processes, PCB manufacturing, and soldering equipment troubleshooting.
• Skilled in diagnosing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and software issues.
• Familiar with thermal profiling, SPC, GR&R, and industry best practices.
• Knowledgeable in conformal coating technologies and relevant equipment.
• Able to read technical drawings and interpret specifications accurately.
• Detail?oriented, analytical, and able to work independently or within cross?functional teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven commitment to quality and operational excellence.
