Process Technician (surface Finishing)
Job Description
Operate and monitor surface finishing processes (e.g., electroplating, anodizing, conversion coating, painting, powder coating, passivation, etc.).
Set up, adjust, and maintain process parameters to ensure conformance with specifications.
Conduct chemical titration, solution analysis, and maintain chemical bath conditions within control limits.
Perform regular equipment checks, preventive maintenance, and coordinate with maintenance for repairs.
Support process qualification, validation, and sample runs for new or revised products.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (REACH, RoHS, OSHA, etc.).
Troubleshoot process deviations, surface defects, or equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
Document process data, maintain records, and support production reporting.
Assist engineers in continuous improvement projects, cost reduction, and yield enhancement.
Train operators on proper handling of chemicals, equipment operation, and quality inspection techniques.
Support audits (internal, customer, and regulatory) by providing required records and demonstrating compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma/Certificate in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or equivalent technical field. 2+ years of hands-on experience in surface finishing (plating, anodizing, coating, or similar). Knowledge of chemical handling, safety protocols, and environmental regulations. Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), lean manufacturing, and ISO/AS9100 standards is an advantage. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision. Willing to work shifts if required.
