Overview:

Procurement Engineers are responsible for overseeing and controlling the acquisition of technical goods and services for industrial operations or projects.

Role and responsibilities

Develop sourcing strategies based on portfolio analyses and supplier preferencing study.

Explore and analyse to select the right suppliers/partner with high competency to deliver the parts/services at competitive pricing.

Reviewing and compiling supplier quotes information and related project data such as costing structure, technical data etc.

Manage and negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost, and quality to obtain the maximum benefit for the company.

Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery performance, and quality.

Define and maintain documented category and supplier strategies using market and competitive data.

Develop, implement, and drive the procurement strategies to meet cost savings targets.

Perform regular performance review with suppliers to drive continuous improvements.

Qualification

Minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic or similar Engineering field

A minimum of 3 years\' experience in Industrial Machinery & Equipment industry with strong knowledge of manufacturing process and strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, knowledge of geometric dimension and tolerance standard.

Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing processes to include supplier selection techniques, request for quote, cost analysis, negotiation and sourcing decision
