Job Title: Procurement Manager

Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the procurement function for construction projects by developing strategies, overseeing sourcing and purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Procurement Planning
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project and organizational objectives. Forecast procurement needs based on project schedules and budgets.
2. Team Management
Lead, supervise, and develop the procurement team. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training to ensure high team productivity.
3. Supplier & Subcontractor Management
Identify, prequalify, and manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. Negotiate contracts and long-term agreements for best pricing, quality, and terms.
4. Tender & Contract Management
Oversee preparation and issuance of tender documents and RFQs. Evaluate bids, lead negotiations, and ensure contracts are executed in compliance with legal and company requirements.
5. Cost Control & Budgeting
Monitor procurement budgets and develop cost-saving initiatives. Analyze market trends to secure competitive pricing and mitigate cost escalations.
6. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards. Mitigate supply chain risks by developing contingency plans.
7. Vendor Performance & Quality Assurance
Establish vendor evaluation and performance monitoring systems. Ensure materials and services meet quality specifications and project timelines.
8. Coordination & Reporting
Liaise with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and finance teams to align procurement with project requirements. Provide regular procurement status reports to senior management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5-8 years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role in the construction industry.
Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, subcontracting, and tendering processes.
Proven negotiation and leadership skills.
Excellent knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems.
Strong analytical, budgeting, and cost-control abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
