Product Competence Engineer (Firmware)

Duties and responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of product/technical development process inclusive of ideation, defining specifications, design and implementation and testing.
• Liaising and managing external contractors to ensure projects are completed per timeline and within budget.
• Conducting relevant literature research, review and consolidating the information for trend and opportunity identification.
• Development of hardware such as electronic sensors and MCU circuitry and firmware program for prove of concept prototyping.
• Prototype development may include preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; project scheduling and budgeting, selection of materials and equipment, managing manpower resources and external contractors.
• Devising, setting up and conducting study/test, data collection and compilation.
• Data processing and analysis using tools such as Matlab and Python; extraction of information/trend from the data.
• Development of algorithm/model to automate processing of data.
• Coordinating research collaboration with research institutions/universities to conduct state of the art research and development.
• Competitor product study and analysis; consolidation of the findings in study reports with recommendations for product improvement.
• Organising project meetings and preparing update reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
• More senior position is required to manage all aspects of large scale, complex or significant engineering project to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget.
• The listed job functions are not exhaustive and shall include other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.

Professional competencies

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experiences in programming and App development using : Matlab, Arduino, Python, C, C++, Android Studio and etc
• Good understanding with circuit theory, sensor electronics and microprocessor/firmware.
• Hand- on experience in circuit troubleshooting and use of equipment such as oscilloscope, multimeter etc.
• Experience with Algorithm development and AI model development to automate processing of data.
• Fresh Graduates are welcomed to apply.
