BAT REGIONAL PRODUCT CENTER IS LOOKING FOR A PRODUCT COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

SENIORITY LEVEL: Management Level

FUNCTION: Scientific Research & Development

SALARY RANGE: Starting at RM 7,000 + Excellent Benefits + Market leading bonus

LOCATION: Kuala Lumpur

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

This role is to review, assess and implement the process to ensure compliancy of the product portfolio at an SKU, material and ingredients level ensuring appropriate service to the requestor. Also, to prepare the ingredients\xe2\x80\x99 information required for product disclosure to a specific End Market.

Reports to: Regional Product Compliance Manager

Reporting Level: Manages Self & Others

Geographic Scope: Malaysia.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Act as a key internal regulatory compliance point-of-contact and source of information for the assessment and reporting of the PRRPs and/or Combustibles portfolio in all applicable Markets.
  • Responsible for assess the compliance of the product portfolio (at a SKU, material and ingredients level) to ingredients regulation (by use list) and product standards for all PRRPs and/or Combustibles to defined project plans and timelines.
  • Review and assess technical information originating from multiple business partners and internal data systems, using sound technical and scientific principles, and resolve compliance with regulatory and standard methodology requirements where information is currently available. Where information is not immediately available, to bring up identified issues to the correct stakeholders as appropriate and required to determine best practice.
  • Support engagement activities conducted by our Legal and External Affairs (LEX) and Product/Packaging colleagues as required
  • Follow and promote Company, HS&E and Quality procedures and standards to enable the business to achieve and maintain excellent results.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all supplier information is maintained to ensure their trust, support and co-operation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders on technical assessment-related matters, under the mentorship of the Team Manager.
  • Carry out such further tasks that may be delegated by immediate line manager.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • A good first science related degree in a relevant technical field and/or area of expertise developed through experience and positive track record
  • Possess excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft office software, data collection and general analysis tools; Microsoft Excel proficiency particularly preferred, experience of operating a product specification/compliance IT system
  • Excellent self in manage, effective in communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage upwards effectively and assertively, as well as within the peer group, to acquire the necessary information, and help drive and inform the decision-making process by the appropriately placed people (both at the senior and junior level
  • Ability to work independently, but also able to engage and influence within a more complex matrix structure where no reporting lines exist
  • Excellent written and verbal reasoning skills
  • Able to deal proactively and confidently when faced with a high level of ambiguity and tight time constraints
  • Positive "can-do" attitude and effective problem solver
