Duties and responsibilities

  • Job Function:
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Develops and directs marketing programs for a significant product category.
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Compiles and evaluates research on the market\'s product requirements and identifies enhancements to current features and functionality.
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Establishes marketing strategies including product development to manage a product or product category\'s life cycle.
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Interfaces with engineers, designers, suppliers and customers to develop product requirements and specifications.
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare and coordinates product introductions and updates.
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Support and work closely with Sales team to achieve Division and Company\'s goals and objectives.
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Development and Execution of Strategic Marketing Plan
  • Market Research and Analysis
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Knowledge of marketplace is gathered from field sales input, the results of market research surveys, competitive information, and personal professional contacts and through individual creativity.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Identify and establish new funding sources (Hospital Journal, Media, and Audit Report) in order to develop and implement strategies to enhance traditional or existing sources of funds.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Evaluate potential new products/features, including technical feasibility, market size, potential revenue, etc., and make recommendations with respect to implementation.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Maintains close contact with HQ (BMI/BBM) and with regard to any marketing/sales program and new product development, and provide regular updates to the senior management.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Minimum 48 field visits per year with sales representatives or area managers to collect feedback on current programs and market conditions/needs.
  • Planning
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Utilizing the Marketing Competency Model (Market situational analysis, STP, Action Plan and Review and Assessment).
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Establishes strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives via accumulation of market data, communicating with all departments of the organization and by analyzing product trends and having a thorough knowledge of all activities of the marketplace
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Recommends and develop product positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Monitors competitive products and marketing activities.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Ensuring the development and maintenance of customer database.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts, and provides feedback for future product development.
  • Execution and Tracking
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Develops and adjusts promotional activity for assigned products in accordance with market trends to ensure profitability.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Develops tracking tools and to work with SM/BUM/DSMs to monitor the effectiveness of the execution plan by the sale personnel.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Support all major CME talk, in-service and Aesculap Academic program that involved the product line handle.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Facilitates changes and resolves conflict within marketing group to ensure objective fulfilment and swift response to marketing problems and opportunities.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Establishes and maintains good relationships with key hospitals and key customer and strategic partners.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Ensuring the development and maintenance of monitoring tools to track the progress of programs / activities implemented.
  • Event Planning, Workshop & Development of Product Champion
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Oversees the execution of trade show (exhibition) and other key events and promotions such as AA Program, press conferences, company receptions, and other community outreach efforts.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Establish system for tracking product contributions/give-away to during events and to ensure adherence to budgets and that company\'s objectives are being served
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Ensures that key information and enquiry (pre and post) regarding events is being disseminated to staff, reps and outside constituencies.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Ensures that all events are providing a strong ROI of company funds and that we are fully maximizing each opportunity.
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Product Management
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Managing the entire product life cycle from strategic/marketing planning to campaign planning, tactical activities and inventory management/forecasting. Provide Sales and Customer Service support for new and existing products, work with Supply Chain to effectively manage product inventory, minimizing short expiry stocks and out of stock situation. Develop budget and revenue forecasts for new and existing products.
  • Product Training
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Product Training and Review on regular basis - to provide product knowledge, both technical and commercial, to the Sales personnel and others as needed.
  • Communication Tools
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Designs, writes, and oversees the production of printed promotional materials including catalogues, brochures, flyers, and program and media guides.
  • Customer Feedback
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Manage formal and informal customer feedback (beta tests, qualitative analysis) as part of the product development process
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Monitor and record product input/ideas from customers.
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 New Product Launch Plan
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Develops accurate sales forecasts for product lines as needed, and shares corporate service level objectives with operations group.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Market feasibility survey (refer to Market Research & Analysis)
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Create Market Requirements Documents, Market Opportunity Reports and Product Specifications for potential new products
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Incorporate the global direction for local launch plans
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Work together with SM/BUM/DSM to create financial projections for new product opportunities and trends
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Create new marketing materials for new products
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Conduct product training for Sales and customers
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Stay abreast of customer complaints and concerns in order to identify any new product features, deficiencies
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Allocation for Market Resources
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Responsible for meeting allocated budget in sales, expenses and margin for responsible product line.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Co-develops and manages marketing operating expenses budget.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Evaluates each customer and project for its ROI and ensure the contribution to market share
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Assist in cost feasibility studies for upcoming or ongoing programs and projects
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Total Product Budget, Marketing Expenses and Profit Margin (CM II%)
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Training, Meeting, Planning and Reporting
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Provide monthly reports by describing details of activity within his/her market - submit to Superior by 3rd working day of the month. Other reports will be submitted when appropriate.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Provide a comprehensive marketing plan and to be submitted to Superior by beginning of January or February of each year.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Provide monthly Travel Plan to Immediate Superior before 2nd day of the month and Outstation Travel Plan with detail objective - 2 week before travel.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Timely reporting of market updates to the management
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Provide sponsorship target lists to Superior at least three weeks before the event timing.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 To attend and actively participate in meetings and training courses organized by the company.
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledge & Development
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Work with medical societies, NGOs, health organization to stay up to date in new developments in the field, and analyze and report data patterns which affect the marketing of the products, making recommendations to the Superior to enhance the product\'s functionality and profitability.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Develop and undertake an approved plan for self-development through evaluating present level of success and setting goals and instrumental methods for meeting these goals.
  • \xef\x82\xa7 To determine the developmental needs necessary to enhance his/her performance and ensure their continued growth via the Advanced Product Training and Marketing courses
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Building Brand Loyalty
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Acts as steward of the B. Braun Sharing Expertise brand image
  • \xef\x82\xa7 Working together with Corp Com. to establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events. Duty includes writing and maintaining a brand standards handbook and/or website.
Professional competencies
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or Professional Degree preferably in Medical Science, Pharmacy/Pharmacology
Personal competencies
  • At least 3 years\' experience in market knowledge and product management. Prefer prior experience with medical and/or pharmaceutical.
