Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets (monthly / quarterly / annually).
Identify and pursue new business opportunities: new accounts (clinics, hospitals, labs), new territories, new customer segments.
Maintain and grow existing customer relationships to maximize repeat sales.
Product Promotion & Presentations
Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, elucidate clinical / functional benefits to healthcare professionals (doctors, surgeons, lab technologists, nurses etc.).
Participate in medical conferences, trade shows, workshops.
Coordinate with marketing to execute promotional campaigns, educational programs.
Account & Territory Management
Manage a defined territory: plan visits, calls, follow-ups.
Develop action plans for territory growth.
Monitor competitor product offerings and pricing, feedback to management.
Tender / Contract Handling
Participate in tender processes (government / hospitals etc.) including preparing submissions, follow-ups, negotiations.
Ensure compliance with contract terms and manage renewal or expansion.
Customer Support & After-Sales
Ensure good customer satisfaction: address product enquiries, issues, or complaints.
Follow up post-installation / purchase to ensure proper usage and maintenance.
Provide training or ensure customers are trained on product use, if required.
Product Knowledge & Feedback
Maintain detailed knowledge of product features, indications, technical specifications, regulatory status etc.
Monitor market trends, competitor behaviors; collect feedback from customers to help shape product improvements or marketing strategy.
Reporting & Administrative Tasks
Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, expense reports.
Manage sales documentation: orders, quotations, contracts.
Maintain customer databases and product records.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, company policies, and ethical standards (codes of conduct, medical regulations etc.).
Qualifications & Skills
Typical requirements may include:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Medical Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
Experience (1-5 years depending on level) in medical/healthcare sales, medical devices, diagnostics or pharmaceuticals.
Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to explain technical / clinical information clearly.
Good negotiation skills.
Self-motivated, target driven, able to work independently and manage territory.
Able to travel as needed; valid driver's license / own transport is often required.
Good interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with health professionals and stakeholders.
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
