A leading food manufacturing company is recruiting for a Production Engineer job to be responsible for ensuring that production targets are met at the most optimum rate of efficiency while maintaining employee safety, product quality and asset performance. This role reports to the Production Manager.

About the Production Engineer Role:
The Production Engineer is responsible for assisting the Production Manager and supervising the production team to achieve targets in the production plan with high productivity and adhere to GMP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee key operational activities for production lines, including staffing allocation, overtime arrangement, and maintenance coordination among other tasks
• Ensure that production yield and overall equipment efficiency are constantly kept at an optimum level
• Plan daily changeover schedules for the production lines
• Actively lead shift review meetings and ensuring that end-of-shift reports are completed
• Ensure that the routine maintenance and equipment cleaning are conducted as scheduled
• Ensure the adherence of safety procedures at all times, while leading improvement projects
• Assist in the development of production schedules with the Production Manager and Planner so that maximum productivity is achieved, quality standards are met, and customer delivery times/dates are achieved
• Ensure that food safety is exercised to produce quality products according to sales order in order fulfil customer satisfaction
• Assist in other departments activities (such as maintenance, safety) to reduce downtime thus maximising productivity
• Maintain the housekeeping and sanitation of the plant to comply with established standards
• Ensure compliance with food safety policy and other standards established such as HACCP, GMP, etc.
• Manage the shift schedule to include work station assignments, rotations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employee, and shift rotations

To be successful in this Production Engineer role, you must have prior production experience within the food manufacturing industry.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Food Technology, Engineering or related field of study
• Three years of production experience in food manufacturing industry
• Knowledge on food safety, HACCP and GMP
• Ability to strategically plan for production in order to achieve highest cost optimisation
• Ability to understand the KPIs, focus on key objectives and deliver results that meet or exceed expectations
• Ability to make timely decisions during critical moments to ensure production schedule is met
• Ability to interact and build relationships with all personnel, including those from other departments while motivating and inspiring team members
