Position Overview: The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of Insulet\xe2\x80\x99s Omnipod Manufacturing lines at the Malaysia Manufacturing Facility at Johor Baru Malaysia. The Production Manager will be responsible for daily output of the Omnipod lines, conformance of line operations to cGMP practices and ensuring that all products meet Insulet quality standards. The successful candidate is expected to spend a significant portion of their day working on the manufacturing floor, focused on data analysis to drive decision making and continuous improvement activities. Responsibilities: \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide coaching and professional development to team of supervisors. \xe2\x80\xa2 Lead lean improvement projects and initiatives utilizing multiple sources of data to make informed decisions on how to sustainably improve output rates and reduce cost through scrap elimination. \xe2\x80\xa2 Analyze, track and report performance by shift, line, and operator while developing programs and initiatives to drive performance and behaviors within the workforce. \xe2\x80\xa2 Create, maintain, and publish operational score cards to drive results across the crew - including, but not limited to, key performance indicators such as build plan fulfill, Scrap, Line Efficiency, Productivity, Kanban, Training Effectiveness, First Hour Performance, and 6S/Gemba Audits \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensures that all team members are adequately trained, and activities are performed as specified in documented work instructions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Formally evaluates performance of supervisors and champions professional development of the team. \xe2\x80\xa2 Influences and provides idea generation / feedback / implementation support to engineering change orders and projects. \xe2\x80\xa2 Coordinates all operational and engineering activities across the crew utilizing exemplary cross-functional communication skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Serve as a backup line supervisor where needed. \xe2\x80\xa2 Other tasks as assigned by superior Education and Experience: Minimum Requirements: \xe2\x80\xa2 Bachelor\'s degree in a management, operations, supply chain, or engineering discipline \xe2\x80\xa2 Minimum 3-5 years\' experience managing/supervising work activities in a high-volume production environment. \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in the medical device industry is preferred. Preferred Skills and Competencies: \xe2\x80\xa2 Self-starter and adaptable, ability to be reached at all hours 24/7. \xe2\x80\xa2 Must have strong familiarity with cGMP guidelines and ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 regulations. \xe2\x80\xa2 Fundamental understanding of statistics and an ability to analyze data in Excel or Minitab to draw conclusions and make decisions on how to improve problems. Advanced understanding of statistics and Six Sigma preferred. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to present complex problems in a simple way, taking high level data to show performance improvements or to research and initiate a long-term improvement project \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to lead projects, track progress and meet previously set timelines. \xe2\x80\xa2 Proficient in moderately advanced computer and data analytic skills. Fundamental knowledge of ERP systems; SAP would be a plus \xe2\x80\xa2 Must have experience working in a regulated industry; Consumer products or Life Sciences preferred. \xe2\x80\xa2 Hands-on experience in set-up and operation of automated production equipment preferred but not required. \xe2\x80\xa2 Must be a team oriented, detailed individual. Should have a strong work ethic, self-starter and adaptable. \xe2\x80\xa2 Must possess the initiative and drive for continual improvement. \xe2\x80\xa2 Process oriented and uses data to make decisions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Have a work style that motivates the production staff. \xe2\x80\xa2 Must be able to fulfill job responsibilities in a fast-paced/high-volume production environment. \xe2\x80\xa2 Multi-language fluency preferred (English, Malay, Mandarin)
