JOB SUMMARY

The School of Engineering and Science invites applications for the position of Professor - Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering. Candidates should possess expertise in one or more of the following sub-fields: Vibration, Dynamic Systems and Control, Renewable Energy System Management, Hydrogen Technology Systems Design, or Advanced/Smart Manufacturing. A relevant PhD from a recognized institution and registration with a professional body are mandatory. Possession of a professional qualification such as PEng, IPEA, or APEC Engineer, or active progress toward such certification, is highly desirable. Applicants should have extensive experience in teaching at the higher education level. Experience in establishing and developing meaningful collaborations between academia and industry will be considered an added advantage. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of high-quality research output with significant impact, as well as leadership in research activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Contribute to the ongoing development of curriculum and instructional materials across various programs and levels. Lead and deliver teaching activities, including lectures, tutorials, labs, and assessments, ensuring high standards in student learning outcomes. Provide academic consultation and mentoring to students. Continuously enhance teaching, training, and mentoring capabilities. Develop and expand the Faculty's learning and teaching initiatives. Build a robust portfolio in research and scholarly activities. Supervise honours, postgraduate, and doctoral students. Participate in research training, contribute to research group development, and foster collaborative research networks. Uphold high academic and professional standards in all responsibilities. Support the administration and enhancement of the Faculty's academic programs. Engage professionally with relevant industries and business sectors. Demonstrate leadership in academic, professional, and community-related activities relevant to the Faculty.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

A PhD in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution. Professional registration with a body such as the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Possession of or progress toward a professional qualification (e.g., PEng, IPEA, APEC Engineer) is desirable. Expertise in Vibration, Dynamic Systems and Control, Renewable Energy System Management, Hydrogen Technology Systems Design, or Advanced/Smart Manufacturing. Significant experience in teaching at the tertiary level in a related field. Experience in forming impactful academic-industry partnerships is advantageous. A proven record of impactful, high-quality research and recognized research leadership. Excellent academic performance from pre-university level onward. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English. Evidence of innovation, including copyrights, patents, or contributions to academic entrepreneurship.
