This role is to assists in the provision of basic cost, planning, scheduling and risk assessment support to Wood assignments / project teams and clients, typically on smaller projects without dedicated project control discipline teams.
Under close supervision and with support and guidance, runs a limited range of project controls systems and tools to enable the successful management and reporting of the project costs, schedule and risk on projects and specific assignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in reporting of planned v\xe2\x80\x99s actual progress figures
Support the collection of weekly progress figures from the project team and any 3rd party contractors
Assist with reporting against the project critical path
Assist with reporting of project costs and schedule data
Assist with weekly and monthly project cost and planning status reports
Review and be familiar with the Project Work Breakdown Structure for specific scopes of work
Study and understand all relevant documents pertaining to the preparation of plans and schedules
Support the monitoring of cost commitments and expenditures through all phases of the project / assignment
Liaise with Project Accounting and time-capture functions and third parties as required to ensure accurate and timely capture of costs and ensure costs are allocated accurately in accordance with approved project/assignment WBS
Work closely and assist Project Accountants and Billing Specialists in the Billing process and any other cost related queries
May assist with quantity surveying on the project, utilizing controlled engineering documentation and/or models (may be discipline oriented)
Assist the maintenance of project S-Curves and Histograms. Gathers progress updates on activities and deliverables from stakeholders.
Perform progress updates of the project Gantt charts
Follow change management process
Attendance at client progress meetings (as required)Assist with the preparation of proposal schedules and CTR packs
Attend cost and schedule risk analysis workshops / sessions
Be familiar with and comply with Project Controls processes and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience)
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Entry level role, incumbents will typically have less than 2 years experience in project control
Basic understanding of project management principles and techniques
Basic understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management
Good skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word
