Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation business in Malaysia and reports to Engineering Manager
You will be mainly accountable for:

• Ensures that engineering is developed with complete information - all multidisciplinary information has been included in the engineering development.
• Works with customers at strategic or senior levels to shape and deliver leading edge solutions/processes, seeking feedback and innovating with the customer to drive and deliver improvements, meet customer needs, and develop long term relationship
• Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects.
• Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.
• Serves as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts and methods; collaborates and networks with engineering colleagues within ABB and externally

Qualifications for the role

• A Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or other equivalent engineering
• More than 15 years of hands-on engineering and commissioning experience in Distributed Control System (DCS) associated to Power & Water projects industries, including Hydro Power plant, Combined Cycle Power plant, Water treatment plant, Wastewater treatment plant, District cooling plant, etc.
• Thorough understanding of power & water plant process with specialization in applications and solutions for integrated process control.
• Minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with Project Lead Engineer, in both Greenfield and Brownfield projects
• Knowledge of various third-party interfaces and integration methods and Fieldbus such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, IEC60870-5-101/104, IEC61850, etc.
• Knowledge on 800XA/Symphony Harmony platform preferred.
• Basic knowledge on Virtualization, Networking & Cyber security preferred
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel; MS access, Power Point, MS Visio, MS projects and ACAD.
• Clear understanding of project execution cycle, challenges, and safety requirements at each stage of project activities including commissioning sequence.
• Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to travel to site locations as required.
• Proficient in write and communicate in English.
