Role Overview

The Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a full-scale Data Centre Migration project, encompassing physical infrastructure, application migration, and network transition. The role requires a blend of technical understanding, vendor management, and project governance to ensure seamless migration with zero data loss, minimal downtime, and full compliance with regulatory and client standards (e.g., BNM RMiT, ISO 22301/27001).

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Governance

Develop and manage detailed Project Plan, Migration Schedule, and Risk Register.

Manage Project Governance structure (Steering Committee, Working Group, Technical Team).

Define scope, deliverables, milestones, objectives, and success criteria.

2. Execution & Coordination

Assist end-to-end migration lifecycle: discovery, design, pilot, migration waves, cutover, and post-migration validation.

Coordinate cross-functional teams (Infrastructure, Network, Application, Security, Facilities, OEMs, and DC Operators).

3. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

Liaise with internal teams, external vendors, and OEMs.

Conduct weekly progress meetings, risk reviews, and steering committee updates.

Track dependencies and third-party deliverables (DC facility readiness, cabling, power turn-up, etc.).

4. Risk, Quality & Compliance

Manage project risks, issues, and escalation path proactively.

Validate all post-migration test results (system health, connectivity, DR readiness).

Ensure full documentation and audit trail (e.g., sign-off sheets, verification reports, migration checklists).

5. Reporting & Documentation

Produce status reports, migration dashboards, and post-mortem reports.

Maintain Project Repository with approved artefacts (SoW, design, cutover plan, rollback plan).

Requirement Description

Education Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or related discipline

Experience Minimum 8-10 years in IT infrastructure projects; at least 1 DC migration projects completed

Certifications PMP / PRINCE2 certifications an advantage

Technical

Knowledge Strong understanding of data centre systems (compute, storage, network, virtualization, facilities, security)

Tools Familiar with PM tools (MS Project)

Soft Skills Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and risk control abilities

Regulatory

Knowledge Exposure to BNM RMiT, BCM Policy, and DR testing standards preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
