Requirements

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering or equivalent.

Professional certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is required.

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience in M&E construction.

Proven experience delivering data centre projects (hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise).

Strong knowledge of critical infrastructure systems and commissioning processes.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

Lead and manage data centre projects from initiation through commissioning and handover.

Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.

Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to address delays or cost overruns.

Ensure adherence to project scope, specifications, and contractual requirements.

Stakeholder & Contract Management

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

Manage contracts, variations, claims, and change orders in accordance with contract terms.

Conduct regular project meetings and prepare progress reports for management and clients.

Technical & Quality Management

Oversee M&E systems including LV/HV electrical, UPS, generators, HVAC, fire protection, BMS, and ELV systems.

Ensure compliance with data centre standards (e.g. Tier requirements, redundancy, uptime objectives).

Coordinate testing & commissioning (T&C), integrated systems testing (IST), and final handover documentation.

Implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Cost, Risk & Compliance Management

Control project budgets, cash flow, procurement, and cost reporting.

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including technical, safety, and commercial risks.

Ensure compliance with statutory authorities, local regulations, and health, safety & environmental (HSE) requirements.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and coordinate project engineers, site teams, and subcontractors.

Promote a strong safety culture and ensure site safety compliance.

Drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement within the project team.

Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Excellent project planning, budgeting, and problem-solving abilities.

Familiarity with data centre standards, best practices, and redundancy concepts.

Proficient in project management tools and MS Office applications.

Working Conditions

1. Work in Data Centre

2. Site-based with frequent travel to project locations & may require extended hours during critical project phases (T&C, commissioning).

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM6,500.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
