The Project Manager (Retail Fit-Out) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all retail renovation and fit-out projects from start to completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality and brand standards. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in Chinese due to project requirements and coordination with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
Lead and manage end-to-end retail fit-out projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
Prepare project timelines, work programmes, and progress reports.
Coordinate with designers, contractors, suppliers, mall management, and internal teams.
2. Site Management
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with specifications.
Resolve site issues promptly to avoid delays.
Ensure all work meets safety standards and local regulatory requirements.
3. Contractor & Supplier Management
Source, evaluate, and manage contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Review quotations, negotiate pricing, and monitor vendor performance.
Ensure materials and workmanship meet company standards.
4. Budget & Cost Control
Prepare project budgets and track expenditures.
Ensure projects stay within cost, timeline, and quality requirements.
Review and verify contractor claims, VO (Variation Orders), and final accounts.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, permits, reports, and approvals.
Prepare weekly and monthly project updates for management.
Ensure proper handover upon project completion.
6. Stakeholder Communication
Communicate with landlords, mall operators, consultants, and internal departments.
Provide clear updates and facilitate smooth project execution.
Ability to communicate in Chinese is required for coordination with Chinese-speaking contractors and suppliers.
Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Construction Management, Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in retail fit-out, renovation, or construction project management.
Strong knowledge of interior fit-out materials, M&E coordination, drawings, and site processes.
Able to communicate effectively in
Chinese (Mandarin)
--spoken and written preferred.
Good leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Willing to travel and work at project sites as required.
