The Rotating Equipment Engineer will be a member of the discipline engineering team working on the total delivery through the ORP, encompassing design, fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning on inboard and deepwater projects including Project-to-Asset handover. The RE Engineer will report on a day-to-day basis to the Senior RE and provide Mechanical, Rotating Equipment Discipline engineering support for detailed engineering, design specification, procurement, installation, commissioning and finally handover of the rotating equipment packages. The Rotating Equipment Engineer will work within a project team environment to deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective facilities.

This position will predominantly support upstream projects green and brownfield within Shell Malaysia and serve as the Technical Authority Level 3 for Upstream capital projects in Shell Malaysia.

Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to HSSE and ensure compliance with HSSE rules and policies.
  • Develop fit for purpose specification compliant with Shell standards
  • Ensuring the correct equipment selection and specification for rotating equipment to meet the Project requirements.
  • Ensure timely execution of the procurement activities taking into consideration project timeline, equipment lead time and manage Stakeholder expectations on obtaining the best possible technical solution at reasonable costs.
  • Managing contractors and vendors to ensure deliverables are on time, meeting Shell\xe2\x80\x99s standards and requirements as well as cost management.
  • Providing Rotating Equipment support during the Fabrication and HUC to ensure seamless equipment installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Reviewing and providing Rotating Equipment input into key project documents such as Operating Manual, RAM Analysis Report etc.
  • Interface with Maintenance and Operations to ensure equipment are designed and built to enhance their effectiveness to perform their roles, not hinder it.
-To support and undertake feasibility studies in front end engineering with strong inputs from operability and maintainability aspects, provide fit for purpose solution in basis for design, functional specifications, technical requisitions, SPEP with commercial mindset. Support projects in post DG3 to support design, fabrication, construction, inspection, testing and commissioning, start up, 90days reliability and handover scopes related to Rotating Equipment System and its interfaces. Be involved in technical and commercial tendering of packages. Must be a TA3 ready to be accessed. In SATP program completed or nearing completion. Manage stakeholders to delivery best in class projects with PT2020, Project Delivery Model and Must Wins initiatives and goals respectively including system engineering. Embed Project and Engineering cultural identity into working culture in the community. Behavior needed is strong team player, integrator, good inter-personnel skills. Able to work offshore and onshore.

Purpose:

Execute TA-3 responsibilities and provide daily technical advice to the Rotating Equipment engineers in the Shell Malaysia upstream projects. Key aspects include all matters relating to the engineering, design, selection, specification and performance of rotating equipment, proccurement, installation, commissioning and final handover.

Review the Rotating Equipment engineering aspects for technical integrity against company and industry standards and lesson learned in the group and organization. Ensure high reliability is realized through careful system design and equipment selection.

Ensure optimal design and best engineering practices to develop fit-for-purpose installations that meet the stringent integrity standards, whilst minimizing total cost-of-ownership over the life cycle.

Serve as the Technical Authority Level 2 for Upstream capital projects in Shell Malaysia.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide technical assurance of Rotating Equipment related designs through appropriate application of Shell technical standards and specifications, implementation of DCAF/DDP.
  • Ensure schedule and cost considerations are included in design decisions, while maintaining primary responsibility to assure safe and appropriate quality designs.
  • Verify the design integrity of work carried out by engineering contractors to ensure that the proposed solutions are technically sound and meet reliability, operability and maintainability requirements.
  • Ensure Rotating Equipment related activities are executed in alignment with Shell\xe2\x80\x99s Project Delivery Roadmap, Opportunity Realization Process and HSSE Standards.
  • Participate in design reviews, TA reviews, HAZOPs, SILs, RAM, RCM etc.
  • Audit for compliance and assist in resolution of field non-conformance issues.
  • Be Involved in construction, installation, pre-commissioning, lifting, procurement, tendering, quality assurance and control, contractors/OEM management, FAT, SAT and commissioning, start up and reliability runs activities,
  • Design and develop, as required, innovative technical approaches to Rotating Equipment issues and contribute to continuous business improvement initiatives (fit for purpose).
  • Ensure Lessons Learned, HFE issues, Flawless principles, quality assurance and constructability are considered during all aspects of rotating equipment design and specification development including operability and maintainability.
  • Network within Shell locally to incorporate and share knowledge and best practices.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for DEP improvements.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to HSSE and ensure compliance with HSSE rules and policies, demonstrate with ALARP principles the engineering is safe for local Operating Unit.
