The Purchasing Assistant supports the procurement team in sourcing and purchasing construction materials, equipment, and services. The role involves requesting quotations, preparing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries to project sites, and maintaining accurate purchasing records to ensure smooth and timely project operations.
Job Requirements
Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or related field.
Basic knowledge of purchasing/procurement processes (construction industry is an advantage).
Good communication skills and ability to work with suppliers and internal teams.
Strong organisation and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with purchasing/ERP systems is a plus.
Able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
Job Responsibilities
Source and obtain quotations for construction materials, equipment, and services.
Compare prices and prepare recommendations for purchasing decisions.
Create and process Purchase Orders (POs) accurately.
Coordinate with suppliers and project sites to ensure timely material delivery.
Follow up on delivery status and resolve delays or issues.
Maintain proper records of quotations, POs, invoices, and delivery documents.
Update purchasing and inventory databases where required.
Support the purchasing team with supplier communication and documentation.
