Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Purchasing Manager to lead and manage the company's procurement function. This role requires strong supplier management capabilities--especially with suppliers from China--as well as advanced analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate is independent, process-driven, and able to oversee the full purchasing cycle with minimal supervision.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Manage end-to-end purchasing activities, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.

Liaise closely with suppliers in China to ensure timely delivery, quality compliance, and cost competitiveness.

Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support business objectives.

Oversee inventory planning, material forecasts, and stock level optimization.

Prepare regular purchasing reports and cost analyses using Excel.

Ensure accurate data management and procurement processes within SAP.

Collaborate with internal departments (Operations, Sales, Finance, Production) to support business requirements.

Lead and guide the purchasing team; provide coaching and performance oversight.

Implement best practices and continuous improvements in procurement processes.

Support strategic planning and contribute to high-level decision-making with the Senior Operations Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

5-8 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, including supplier management and some leadership responsibilities.

Fluent in Mandarin (read, write, speak) for communication with China-based suppliers.

Proficient in Excel and SAP systems.

Independent, proactive, and capable of managing the purchasing function with minimal supervision.

Strong leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Preferably from a Sales background, with strong commercial awareness.

Comfortable with face-to-face interviews during the hiring process.

Candidates should be able to work effectively within a multicultural team environment.
