Purchasing Manager

to oversee and enhance our purchasing operations. This role is responsible for developing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring regulatory and food safety compliance, and leading a high-performing team to support timely and cost-effective purchasing across all departments.

Key Responsibilities



1. Strategic Purchasing Management



Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals and cost-efficiency targets. Identify new sourcing opportunities to ensure a consistent supply of quality materials at competitive prices.

2. Supplier & Vendor Management



Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers based on performance, quality, and reliability. Oversee supplier evaluations, on-boarding, and performance monitoring to ensure alignment with LH Plus standards. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to achieve the best value for the company.

3. Compliance & Risk Management



Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, food safety standards, and relevant regulations (HACCP, ISO 22000, ISO 13485). Monitor supplier risk, including financial stability, production capacity, and regulatory compliance.

4. Team Leadership



Lead, train, and develop the purchasing team to drive efficiency and continuous improvement. Provide support in complex supplier negotiations and critical purchasing decisions.

5. Reporting & Analysis



Track and report key purchasing KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, and material lead times. Conduct regular spend analysis and market research to support planning and cost control.

6. Operational Oversight



Manage purchasing documentation including Purchase Orders (POs), Payment Requests, ISO documents, Supplier Approvals, and Evaluations. Collaborate with the New Product Development (NPD) team to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of new materials or components.

Job Requirements



Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment (preferably plastics or food-grade industries). Strong understanding of purchasing standards and regulatory compliance in food-safe and plastic manufacturing. Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiation, vendor management, and cost control. Proficient in English, with Malay and/or Chinese language skills considered an advantage. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
