Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for construction materials (e.g., cement, steel, aggregates, fittings, M&E materials).
Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate the best terms (pricing, delivery, credit terms).
Maintain an updated supplier database and develop long-term vendor relationships.
Prepare, issue, and follow up on Purchase Orders (POs).
Ensure materials purchased match project specifications and requirements.
Track order progress to ensure timely delivery to site.
Work closely with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and QS teams to understand material needs.
Resolve any discrepancies between ordered and delivered materials.
Support urgent site requests and ensure minimal site downtime.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with storekeepers to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Verify supplier delivery orders and invoices for accuracy.
Assist in controlling wastage through proper procurement planning.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures and project budgets.
Maintain proper documentation including POs, DOs, invoices, material comparison sheets, and supplier records.
Assist with internal and external audits related to procurement.
Participate in cost-saving initiatives and value engineering.
Provide price updates to QS team for cost estimation and budgeting.
Requirement:
Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum 1-3 years experience in construction procurement.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Familiar with construction materials and suppliers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Autocount System, and document control.
Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
