Who will you be working for: Our client is a prominent US MNC in the Bayan Lepas industrial area. They are rapidly expanding and are actively looking for great talent to join their organization. What you will be doing:
- Lead and administrate the Purchasing organization.
- Develop Purchasing systems to meet the Operation\'s quality & Environmental requirements.
- The Purchasing Manager shall adhere to all safety guidelines and actively promote safety conscious attitude within the department.
- Support the development and implementation of Supply Chain strategies and systems.
- Ensure Operation\'s execution to Company Supply Chain strategies.
- Provide feedback to SCM on the commodity strategies and regional resources serving Operation for continuous improvements.
- Support the development of Company Supply Chain strategies and systems. Obtain feedback from customers and suppliers. Collaborate with SCM, other plant Operations, suppliers, and customers to develop supply chain solution that improves performance and service levels.
- Support customers\' business needs using standard processes where possible and customized solutions where necessary. Influence customers in order to leverage the company\'s Supply Chain solutions.
- Optimize the overall cost of materials and ensure that materials supply equals demand.
- Indoctrinate the importance of having materials supply equal demand. Ensure that Buyer Planners participate in determining MPS loading to create a realistic commitment that best supports customer needs. Maintain a disciplined process to ensure materials availability to support production activities per the Master Production Schedule without creating materials liability. Disconnects between materials supply and requirements such as shortages, non-conformance, high stocks, and excess/obsolete materials are continuously monitored and eliminated.
- Execute Purchasing and Materials Planning functions according to the business objectives and policies and procedures. Continuously improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of the functions. Drive down overall cost of materials including component pricing, freight expenses, administration expenses, materials liability, and high stock.
- Ensure that MPV is optimized. Component purchase price should be projected to accurately reflect the inventory value for the financial period in Standard Costing process. Ensure that quoted cost to the customer is competitive yet maximizes the amount of favorable Materials Price Variance (MPV).
- Ensure all purchases orders are placed with pricing and terms & conditions that are negotiated and agreed to by Commodity Managers and Buyers.
- Ensure that Operation\'s supply base contributes to success of the Operation and that suppliers are selected based on overall cost effectiveness and their ability to meet requirements. Monitor, track, and provide feedback on suppliers\' performance on overall cost, delivery, and quality.
- A professional Degree preferably in an Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as purchasing professional of raw materials used in printed circuit board assemblies.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership position.
- Working experience in a Contract Manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
- Extremely strong skills in communication, leadership, business analysis, process development, administration and change management are required.
- Bayan Lepas: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
- 5 years in a leadership capacity leading a number of suboordinates
