About the role

The primary responsibilities include to conduct laboratory analysis for every batch of products produced in Plant. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the food industry.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all laboratory instruments and apparatus are suitable, used as intended, and well maintained.
• Oversee and manage overall lab operations to ensure optimal functioning.
• Promptly escalate any deviation, deficiency, non-conformity, or abnormality in any aspect of lab operations to the Assistant Process QA Manager.
• Keep the Product Info dossier up to date at all times.
• Maintain CCP checklists to ensure all Critical Control Points (CCPs) are within critical limits and resolve any outstanding actions prior to product release.
• Input lab testing results in the ERP system (SAP) to ensure final analytical results meet product specifications.
• Assist the Process QA Executive in investigating product non-conformances and customer complaints, collaborating with stakeholders such as the production team and maintenance team.
• Conduct post-processing organoleptic evaluations of finished goods after 24 hours or as required.
• Promptly escalate Food Safety and Quality non-conforming events to the Process QA Assistant Manager for further actions if necessary.
• Support 2nd party and 3rd party audits as required.
• Trial/Commercial Run Preparation

• Prepare for trial and commercial runs by:
• Creating new product documentation (Lab sheet and Product Info).
• Obtaining GTIN carton label, gross weight, and net weight from Regulatory Affairs (RA).
• Setting up labels and obtaining approval for trial runs/commercial runs.
• Sending trial/commercial run preparation emails.

Qualifications and skills

Minimum Diploma/Certificate in any science discipline.

Fresh graduates with a background in Food Science, Food Technology, or Food Engineering are encouraged to apply.

Ability to build strong and effective working relationships with QA and other technical disciplines.

Proficient in verbal and written communication in Malay and English.

Basic understanding of problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.

Competency in computer programs/software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

This is a temporary position covering maternity leave for a duration of 6 months.

Training will be provided to enhance technical skills as needed.
