Job Description

Job Summary:

The QAQC (Quality Assurance and Quality Control) Engineer will oversee and ensure the quality standards for construction works at the Rasau Water Treatment Plant. The role involves implementing quality management systems, conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and coordinating with project teams to resolve quality-related issues. The QAQC Engineer will ensure that all materials, workmanship, and site practices meet the required standards, regulations, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

Develop, implement, and maintain the project's Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with company and regulatory standards.

Quality Control:

Inspect and monitor construction activities to ensure they conform to the approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.

Material Testing:

Oversee the testing of materials used in construction to ensure they meet required quality standards and specifications before use on-site.

Conduct Inspections:

Perform routine and scheduled inspections of construction work, including structural, mechanical, and electrical components, to ensure compliance with quality requirements.

Prepare Quality Documentation:

Prepare and maintain quality records such as inspection and test plans (ITPs), material testing reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions.

Non-Conformance Management:

Identify non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and ensure that all issues are resolved promptly to meet quality expectations.

Coordinate with Project Teams:

Collaborate with site engineers, subcontractors, and other project teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout the construction process.

Conduct Audits:

Plan and perform internal quality audits to ensure continuous adherence to the Quality Management System and project specifications.

Vendor Quality Control:

Monitor and review the quality of materials and components supplied by external vendors, ensuring they meet project requirements.

Develop Quality Plans:

Assist in developing and updating project-specific quality assurance and control plans, including test plans, quality checklists, and procedures.

Provide Training:

Deliver quality training to site personnel, ensuring they are aware of project quality requirements and processes.

Quality Reporting:

Provide regular reports on quality performance, non-conformance trends, and quality improvements to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

Adherence to Standards:

Ensure all construction activities comply with local codes, safety regulations, and relevant industry standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in quality assurance/quality control, preferably in construction projects such as water treatment plants or similar infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of quality management systems, industry standards, and local regulations. Proficiency in quality management tools and software. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards. Hands-on experience in material testing, quality control inspections, and audit processes. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams and subcontractors effectively. Certification in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) or a related certification is an added advantage.
