JG6 QGC Finance Analyst supports QGC (Queensland Gas Company) to provide end to end R&A accountabilities for group and statutory reporting, with specific accountability for Group Reporting and KPIs

QGC is one of the largest asset groups in RDS, with Upstream and Midstream Integrated Gas operations, 50+ legal entities in complex entity structure and several Growth projects, involving multiple JV partners and interfaces to Australian authorities.

This role assists QGC Reporting Lead and QGC Financial Controller in executing the monthly financial reporting; drives seamless integration between Group/Stat and MI reporting activities and the simplification of the control agenda. In this role, you will interface with business stakeholders, your finance in the business colleagues, the wider UP/IGNE finance community, the R&A Process Owner organisation and FO Controllers.

What\xe2\x80\x99s the role?

This role will have specific accountabilities with regards the support for Integrated Gas Australia. These include but are not limited to:

  • Together with Financial Controller, successfully perform Monthly & Quarterly Group Reporting and KPI Reporting in compliance with accounting policies.
  • Advise QGC Finance Team on the application of financial accounting policies and standards (GFRM, IFRS, AASB) and provide accounting support on Accounting Notes, and Dispensations.
  • Support in monthly and quarterly working capital including provide commentary
  • Support in Blackline process, subprocess engagement
  • Support in Revenue Transparency and 20F reporting
  • Support in Controls/KPIs, such Reporting controls
  • Support further development of Touchless MI and drive high penetration on usage of tools
  • Support audit deliverables
  • Support QGC Reporting Lead in pooling of resources to manage workload across peaks and activities
  • Support in World Class Close improvement journey
Role requirement
  • A strong understanding of financial accounting, reporting and controls, and ability to efficiently execute standard process whist ensuring appropriate levels of compliance
  • Excellent analytical skills, including an ability to quickly interpret, link and translate complex data quickly into concise insights, understandable to both finance and non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to remain resilient under time pressure and independently prioritise multiple competing priorities whilst maintaining appropriate attention to detail
  • Experienced in complex ERP systems, particularly SAP is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop strong relationships with staff at all levels.
  • Improvement mindset, with experience of identifying and driving improvement projects
  • Openness to embrace change and remain focused even where ambiguity exists
  • High capacity to prioritize key elements of a deliverables
  • Preferably a Graduate in a finance related discipline with experience in similar roles
