The
Quality Engineer
plays a key role in ensuring product quality, process stability, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. This position involves overseeing supplier quality, customer complaints, internal audits, and corrective actions to ensure compliance with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical Engineering
,
Manufacturing Engineering
, or a related field.
Minimum
3-5 years
of experience in
quality engineering
within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
Familiarity with
IATF 16949
,
ISO 9001
, and
APQP / PPAP
documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (e.g., 8D, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication skills in English and Malay (both written and verbal).
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures to ensure product compliance with customer requirements.
Lead and manage
supplier quality performance
, including incoming inspection issues and supplier audits.
Analyze
customer complaints
and coordinate
corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
.
Conduct
internal audits
to verify compliance with quality and environmental management systems.
Support
PPAP submission
,
FAI
, and
sample approval
activities for new projects.
Perform
root cause analysis
for quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain calibration control and measurement system analysis (MSA) for all inspection equipment.
Work closely with production, engineering, and suppliers to enhance process capability and reduce defects.
Participate in quality meetings and report quality metrics to management.
Ensure adherence to
5S
,
safety
, and
environmental
regulations in all quality operations.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of
GD&T
, CMM programming, and dimensional analysis tools.
Experience with
SPC
,
control charts
, and
data-driven quality improvement
.
Strong understanding of
automotive manufacturing processes
, especially gearbox or transmission systems.
Capable of preparing technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Team-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
