The Quality Inspector is responsible for carrying out inspections and quality checks on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and industry regulations. This role plays a critical part in detecting non-conformities, preventing defective products from progressing, and supporting continuous quality improvement in the production process.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inspection & Testing
Perform quality inspections on incoming materials (IQC), in-process production (IPQC), and finished goods (OQC) using measurement tools, gauges, and visual checks.
Verify product dimensions, functionality, and appearance based on drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
Record inspection results accurately and promptly in quality check sheets or digital systems.
2. Non-Conformance Handling
Identify, report, and isolate non-conforming products or materials.
Work with the Quality Engineer to support root cause investigation and containment activities.
Assist in rework verification or final disposition of non-conforming parts.
3. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure that all inspections are performed in accordance with ISO 9001 and internal quality procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation and records of inspections, defects, and quality incidents.
Tag and label all inspected materials clearly (e.g., "PASS", "REJECT", or "HOLD").
4. Support in Quality Activities
Participate in line audits and process verification activities as instructed by Quality Engineer or Supervisor.
Provide feedback to production operators and team leaders regarding quality findings.
Assist in calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment.
5. Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the management or immediate superior from time to time.
Requirements
1. Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Quality Control, or related field.
2. At least
1-2 years of experience
in a quality inspection role, preferably in manufacturing or electrical product industries.
3. Basic understanding of quality standards, inspection techniques, and tools (e.g., Vernier caliper, micrometer, multimeter).
4. Ability to read engineering drawings and understand specifications.
5. Good attention to detail, responsibility, and ability to work independently or in a team.
6. Willing to work 6 days per week.
