  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • Relevant work experience in quantity surveying, construction or cost management
  • Familiarity with construction project lifecycles and procurement methods
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and general software tools like MS Excel
  • Strong knowledge of measurement standards
  • Ability to analyze data, identify cost saving opportunities and make data driven recommendations
  • High level of accuracy in cost estimation and reporting
  • Understanding of construction contracts, legal frameworks and dispute resolution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with clients and stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation skills to manage contracts and resolve disputes effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
  • Meticulous attention to detail in documentation and cost management
  • Capable of working in dynamic environment and adapting to new challenges
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage budgets cost estimates and feasibility studies for construction projects
  • Advise clients on cost effective strategies and financial viability
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts and bills of quantities
  • Evaluate tenders and recommend contractors and suppliers
  • Monitor contract performance including variations and claims
  • Negotiate and resolve disputes during the project lifecycle
  • Conduct regular cost reporting and financial forecasting
  • Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets
  • Measure and value work done on site for payment certification
  • Prepare final accounts and ensure all financial transactions comply with contracts
  • Identify and manage risk associated with projects and costs and timelines
  • Ensure compliance with legal contractual and industry standards
  • Liaise with architects, engineers contractors and other stakeholders
  • Provide clear and concise reports and recommendations to clients or project managers.
