Prepare progress claim for projects and coordinate project team needs from time to time.
Measure and value construction work, including the preparation of interim and final accounts.
Assist project engineer / project manager in preparing and analyse progress reports and able to perform task assigned by management with full responsible in timely manner.
Prepare and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance and resolving issues.
Collaborate with project managers, consultants, clients and other stakeholders to deliver successful projects.
Negotiate and manage construction contracts, subcontracts, and variations with all related parties.
2. Tendering Procurement:
Handling tender procurements requirement and assists team accordingly.
Responsible for taking-off quantities from drawings and calling for quotations.
3. Cost Budgeting & Cost Control:
Able to extract materials needed for project and assists entire team for purchasing planning and process.
Provide and assist in cost management of projects by preparing pre-contract cost estimation, cost planning, pretender estimation.
Track, review and analyse cost studies updates to team to ensure alignment with project financial targets.
4. Risk Management & Value Engineering:
Able to identify and address potential issues / obstruction arising from site to related parties and proposing appropriate solutions for internal team in coordinal with them.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
Provide expert advice and guidance to the team on contractual and commercial matters.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising design quality.
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry (infrastructure, landscaping and civil structure). Fresh graduates also are encouraged to apply.
Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
Able to work on office (if necessary on site for meetings & joint site measurements)
Proficient in the use of Microsoft office (ex. Excel, Words, etc), quantity surveying software, cost management software and construction-related tools
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
Detailed organizational skill
Thorough understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and project management principles
Ability to complete assigned task and jobs and punctuality in meeting deadlines
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English, & Tamil will be an additional advantage.
