Quantity Surveyor must with strong knowledge of Mathematics for calculating material quantities and construction costs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Project Management:
Reviewing construction plans, calculate quantities and costs for materials, labour and timeframes.
Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of project requirements.
Monitor and manage project budgets, including tracking expenses, reviewing cost reports, and identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Consults with clients to understand their requirements and negotiate contracts and schedules.
Conduct feasibility studies to vet proposed projects.
Prepare tender packages and contracts, including bills for quantities.
Manage risk, value engineering and cost control measures.
Oversee and value subcontractors' work for payments.
Continually assess value for the client's investment.
Advise on claims, disputes and any contractual issues.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
Conduct regular inspections to identify any potential issues or risks, and implement corrective measures to maintain quality and efficiency.
Administration:
Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
Coordinate the procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and resources to ensure timely availability and adherence to project schedules.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare regular reports on site progress and performance, inventory, and productivity metrics.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations to enhance knowledge and provide recommendations for process improvements and innovation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in any field of study, most preferably quantity surveying, engineering, management.
Min 3 years in similar capacity.
