• Prior experience working with Mandarin-speaking clients, contractors, or suppliers is essential.
• Language: Fluent in Mandarin (both spoken and written) is a mandatory requirement.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor who is fluent in Mandarin to join our team. The Quantity Surveyor (Mandarin Speaker) will be responsible for managing all aspects of the cost and financial control of construction projects. This role requires close collaboration with project teams, clients, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin is essential for liaising with Mandarin-speaking clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Working hours will be Monday to Saturday (8AM to 5:30PM).
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management:

• Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for construction projects.
• Review and analyze project costs regularly to ensure they are within the agreed budget.
• Provide cost advice to project managers and other stakeholders on a regular basis.

Tendering and Contract Administration:

• Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including taking off quantities, specifications, and scope of work.
• Evaluate tenders, negotiate contracts, and assist in the final selection of contractors.
• Prepare and issue contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.

Value Engineering and Cost Control:

• Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or project specifications.
• Implement cost control systems to track project progress and ensure adherence to budgets.

Measurement and Documentation:

• Accurately measure and quantify work on-site and from drawings to prepare cost estimates.
• Maintain detailed records of project costs, contracts, variations, and progress reports.
• Provide regular financial and cost reports to the management team.

Client and Stakeholder Communication:

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers in both English and Mandarin.
• Conduct meetings with Mandarin-speaking clients and suppliers, providing updates, resolving issues, and ensuring smooth project progression.
• Provide advice on procurement strategies and contractual matters to the client or project manager.

Change Management:

• Identify and evaluate changes to the scope of work, and provide cost implications and estimates for variations.
• Negotiate with contractors regarding the costs of variations or claims.

Risk Management:

• Assess financial risks associated with projects and implement strategies to mitigate those risks.
• Provide advice on insurance, bonding, and financial security requirements for construction contracts.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with project teams, including engineers, architects, and site managers, to ensure alignment between design, project delivery, and cost control.
• Train and mentor junior quantity surveyors and assistants as needed.
