Working hours & days: Monday - Friday, 9.00 AM - 6.00 PM
Salary range: RM 3,000.00 - RM 5,000.00 per month (Can be negotiable based on experience)Responsibilities:
1. Cost Management: Manage and control project costs through the use of budgets, cost estimates, and value engineering techniques.
2. Quantity Takeoff: Takeoff quantities from architectural and engineering drawings for pricing and estimation purposes.
3. Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment based on project specifications and requirements.
4. Tendering: Prepare and evaluate tender documents, including bills of quantities, and issue inquiries to subcontractors and suppliers.
5. Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, including preparing contract documents, negotiating variations, and assessing claims.
6. Cost Reporting: Monitor and report on project costs against budget, providing regular updates to project stakeholders.
7. Value Engineering: Identify opportunities to reduce costs or improve value without compromising quality or performance.
8. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact project costs or schedules.
9. Final Account Settlement: Prepare and negotiate final accounts with contractors and subcontractors upon project completion.
10. Dispute Resolution: Assist in the resolution of disputes and claims between project parties, providing expert advice and support as neededRequirements:
1. Education: A bachelor\'s degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field is typically required. Some employers may prefer candidates with a master\'s degree or professional certification.
2. Experience: Previous experience in quantity surveying or cost management within the construction industry is often required. Entry-level positions may be available for recent graduates, but mid-level and senior positions typically require 5 years and above of relevant experience.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation, quantity takeoff, and contract administration software/tools is essential. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations is also important.
4. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to analyze cost data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations.
5. Communication: Excellent communication skills are vital for interacting with project stakeholders, negotiating contracts, and presenting cost information effectively.
