Job Description

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor specializing in Tender & Cost Management to join our Tender Unit. This role is ideal for a QS who enjoys working at the front end of projects, influencing pricing strategies, commercial positioning, and project feasibility from inception.

You will be involved in multiple tenders across different project types, working closely with planners, engineers, and management to ensure competitive, accurate, and commercially sound submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and compile tender documents, including Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost plans, and detailed cost estimations. Evaluate tenders from contractors and sub-contractors, including commercial analysis, comparison, and recommendations. Review drawings, specifications, and scope to ensure accurate pricing and identification of risks and opportunities. Monitor and control project costs, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and commercial objectives. Identify cost-saving initiatives and value engineering opportunities during tender and design stages. Advise project teams on efficient and cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and project intent. Assist in reviewing commercial and contractual aspects related to tender submissions. Perform ad-hoc commercial analysis and assignments as required by management.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree / Post Graduate Diploma / Professional Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience (Executive level). Experience or strong interest in tendering, cost estimation, and commercial evaluation. Able to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and tender documentation. Willing to be based at Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya.
