Operate and monitor two-way radios, base stations, and other communication equipment to maintain constant contact with field personnel, drivers, and supervisors.
Relay accurate and timely messages between departments, field teams, and control centers.
Maintain clear communication logs of all incoming and outgoing transmissions.
Coordinate with security, logistics, and emergency response teams to ensure smooth communication flow.
Act as a primary communication link during emergency situations such as accidents, equipment breakdowns, or safety incidents.
Promptly report and relay emergency messages to relevant authorities or departments.
Support emergency response procedures in accordance with company safety protocols.
Ensure that all radio and communication equipment are in good working condition.
Perform regular equipment inspections, testing, and basic troubleshooting.
Report faults or malfunctions to the IT or Technical Department for repair or replacement.
Maintain records of equipment status, maintenance, and allocation.
Maintain daily communication logs including call details, time, and relevant actions taken.
Record and file incident reports and communication summaries as required.
Prepare periodic reports on radio usage, issues, and communication efficiency.
Perform any other communication or administrative tasks as assigned by management.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Diploma in Communication, Safety, Logistics, or related field.
Possession of a valid Radio Operator's Certificate (ROC) or equivalent is an advantage.
Minimum 1-3 years of working experience in radio communication, operations, or safety coordination.
Experience in construction, marine, oil & gas, or logistics environments is preferred.
Proficient in the use of radio communication equipment, GPS tracking, and basic IT tools.
Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain two-way communication systems.
Basic understanding of signal range, frequency management, and call sign procedures.
Excellent listening, communication, and coordination skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in message transmission and documentation.
Ability to work under pressure, especially during emergencies.
Physically fit to perform duties in various field or site environments.
Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia (additional languages are an advantage).
