Rail Project Director

A well-known International Contractor are working on a large Railway project in Malaysia which requires a skilled Rail Project Director to manage the contract and delivery of a railway project in Malaysia. The project is on going and the Rail PD will be responsible for all elements Civil & Systems. This is a role working with the contractor and working closely with a major national client to deliver the scheme.

They are seeking a well rounded Project director and management specialist who is able to oversee the construction, contract management, client interface, budgets and operational management of the project autonomously on behalf of the contractor.

This is a key position reporting to the regional management and board. It will be focused on the delivery of a multi million dollar contract of the upgrade of an exsisting line. The position will allow for the forming of a large delivery team and the delivery of major project within rail.

The Rail Project director will be responsible for the following:
-Contract Management
-Technical leadership within Civil construction ~& Systems, track upgrade, signalling upgrade etc
-Implementing quality standards
-Bidding and business development
-Budget management and procurement
-Building and recruiting a large management team
-Communicating with the client and consultant representatives
-Liaising with design teams
-Overseeing sub-contractors

An ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
-Degree in civil engineering. or equivalent.
-Previous experience in roles such as Project Manager, Project Director, Operations Director
-Experience with Rail, Stations, civil, concrete and major underground & civil, track projects will be essential.

Candidates must be willing to relocate to Malaysia on a full time basis as a permanent employee. There will be flights provided and packages are negotiable up to a very competitive level, however these will be focused on long term staff and offering accommodation.
