Job Description

Position : R&D Senior Manager



Salary : RM 14,000 - RM 16,000



Location : Damansara Uptown



Working Days / Time : 8.30am - 5.30pm / Mon - Fri



Responsibility



Define, develop, and execute the overall R&D vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with the company's business objectives and long-term growth plans. Establish annual goals, budgets, and success metrics for the R&D department, ensuring measurable outcomes and continuous improvement. Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices particularly in large-scale and cloud-based environments to guide innovation and strategic decision-making. Lead and cultivate a high-performing R&D organization by applying strong people management and leadership principles that foster motivation, accountability, and collaboration. Oversee R&D operational processes, ensuring workflows are efficient, scalable, well-documented, and compliant with organizational standards. Drive the implementation of automated and optimized development processes, improving delivery speed, quality, and operational efficiency. Manage, mentor, and support R&D managers and team leads, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and consistent performance across teams. Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), using data-driven insights to evaluate team performance, productivity, and innovation outcomes. Champion talent development initiatives, including performance reviews, career progression planning, training, and succession planning. Collaborate closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align R&D initiatives with product, technology, and business strategies. Represent the R&D department at internal and external engagements, including product launches, industry events, and strategic partnerships. Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence across the organization.

Requirement



Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline; a Master's degree or higher is preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in research and development, with significant experience in senior leadership or managerial roles. Proven track record of leading and scaling R&D teams, delivering complex technology initiatives, and driving innovation. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate vision into executable plans. Deep understanding of modern technology trends, architectures, and platforms, particularly in large-scale, cloud-based, or high-availability environments. Excellent leadership, people management, and organizational development skills, with the ability to inspire and align teams toward common goals. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging effectively with executives, partners, and external audiences. Experience establishing performance metrics, managing KPIs, and driving continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making. Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and learning within a fast-paced environment.

Pay: Up to RM16,000.00 per month
