The Engineering Manager, ASEAN, is a pivotal leader responsible for driving excellence in three core areas: capital management, engineering standards and design engineering, and the development of management resources. This role plays a crucial role in enhancing, sustaining, and innovating midstream manufacturing plants within the ASEAN region. By providing strategic direction and operational guidance, the Engineering Manager ensures the development of leaders who possess profound insights into efficient capital allocation, engineering standards and design principles, and the growth of talented engineering professionals. Additionally, this role significantly contributes to resource optimization, ensuring effective management of engineering projects and talent development within the ASEAN region. Key Responsibilities: Spearhead the strategic management of capital portfolio, optimizing their allocation across engineering projects within the ASEAN region. Uphold and enforce engineering standards and design principles, ensuring projects meet high benchmarks of quality, safety, and innovation. Drive innovation, maintenance, and optimization of existing facilities while integrating cutting-edge design engineering practices. Assume responsibility for talent management, ensuring continuous skill elevation within the engineering team and nurturing management resources. Provide overarching leadership for the engineering talent pool across the ASEAN region, with a keen focus on management development and fosters a culture of engineering excellence. Demonstrate unwavering dedication to safety and environmental stewardship, embedding these principles into capital management, design engineering, and talent development. Collaborate with business units to synchronize projects with broader corporate strategies, incorporating design innovation and prudent capital allocation. Furnish technical support and governance for key Capital Projects, ensuring alignment with design principles and capital optimization. Implement project management methodologies, governance, and provide relevant training, supporting effective resource management and leadership development. Facilitate the sharing of resources between businesses to optimize capital usage and enhance engineering capabilities. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor\'s degree in engineering Engineering qualifications combined with a minimum of 15 years of professional experience. Demonstrated expertise in engineering design and manufacturing, heavy industries preferred, with an emphasis on capital management. Proven track record of engineering leadership, encompassing design engineering and capital management contexts. Established history of driving change in global and multicultural contexts, considering design and capital factors. Proficiency in facilitation and coaching methodologies, with an emphasis on design thinking, capital efficiency, and management development. Effective communication skills catering to both technical and non-technical audiences, articulating design, capital, and leadership concepts seamlessly. Demonstrates proficiency in the English language to effectively engage with the relevant stakeholders Preferred: Experience and familiarity with the ASEAN market Brings experience and expertise in metal coating, painting, and cold rolling, particularly within the realm of Coil Coated steel manufacturing, where integration of design and capital aspects is crucial. Profound understanding of capital management principles, contextualized within engineering design. Record of spearheading substantial brownfield projects valued at over $1M, showcasing proficiency in design engineering, capital allocation, and management development. Previous involvement in design management, aligned with capital efficiency.
