About the Role

Reporting to the Regional VP of Engineering, the Regional Process Engineer will:

  • Leading process tasks in alignment with the regional APMEA 5yr masterplan
  • Execute process scope, technology selection and quality expectations
  • Support the Stage gate deployment operating model for each project
  • Ensure effective and timely communications with respect to the process projects within APMEA
  • Promoting and sharing ideas around technology innovation
  • Site Operations engagement and stakeholder management
  • Support the Procurement Group in evaluation Process Equipment / Process Systems
  • To communicate with all other regional team members
  • Member of the Process Technology group for APMEA Engineering and Process Modelling
The Regional Process Systems Engineer will have some of Organisational responsibilities as a member of the APMEA Regional Engineering Team:
  • To support the process community in the region
  • Coaching and Development of site engineering teams
  • Collection and Roll-out of best practice and lessons learned to capital projects and site activities
  • Contributor to the Project Plan and Capex submission process
  • Process support and attendance to site capital projects
  • Bench to Batch development strategies with Kerry R&DA / Manufacturing
  • Input to Process Knowledge Management
  • Carry out field studies to confirm and improve work methods and processes
  • Development of process specifications and RFQ's
  • Assist the global function in standards development
Key responsibilities

The Regional Process Engineer also has a number of strategic responsibilities as a member of the APMEA Regional Engineering Team:
  • To ensure that all activities within this responsibility are undertaken on time to allow the smooth progression throughout a regional project from start to handover.
  • Contractor / Vendor / Equipment management and negotiations
  • Contribute to the continuous refinement of the stage gate operating model for process design in pursuit of delivery excellence
  • Project planning skills and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Take a leading role in the development of one or more of the Kerry Unit Operations in the areas of;
  • Spray Drying (Single and Multiple Stage),
  • Liquid Flavors (Wash, Extraction, Reaction, Paste, Encapsulation),
  • Extrusion processes, Wet Blending, Wet Processes, Process Utility Optimization
The Regional Process Engineer will be involved in process specific responsibilities like;
  • Develop designs in collaboration with Integrated Operations (RD&A, Equipment Vendors, and Manufacturing)
  • Evaluation and implementation of new processes
  • Process Technology Community Engagement & Innovation
  • Process Mapping of Manufacturing Lines (Mass & Heat Balance)
  • Process Mapping of Utilities & Services ,Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Engineering Hazard Analysis (Process, Services, & Utilities)
  • Process Equipment KPIs and SOPs, Engineering Library
  • Management of Change (Engineering Modifications)
  • New Product Introduction & Innovation Engagement
  • Process selection, optimisation, best process design
  • Optimization of energy ,Odour treatment development and implementation
  • Provide recommendations on the selection of all process equipment.
  • Provide recommendations on the materials of construction for all process plant, in accordance with any relevant design and safety documentation.
  • Provide heat transfer calculations for process plant, where appropriate.
  • Estimate all utility capacity requirements, with full consideration of all standards on utility supplies.
  • Provide end of line technologies to meet defined environmental discharge limits.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Process Control Philosophy, Assist in the area classification of the plant
  • Ensure that designs are consistent with waste elimination/ minimisation policies.
Qualifications and skills
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required in the preferred area of Chemical, Processor, Mechanical, and Industrial Engineering
  • Fluency in English and a local language (advantage)
  • At least 5 to 8yrs of relevant experience
  • Experience of delivering small to medium scale process scope projects of Capital value 3m to 6m Euros
  • Functional knowledge of / and experience in systems with Flavour, Food, Chemical and Ingredients, FMCG industrial sectors
  • Knowledge of GMP / Hygiene manufacturing facilities
  • Previous experience in working within a support organisation with a knowledge of functional and matrix structures
  • Experience of working across different cultures
  • Good understanding of Project and Engineering Management
  • Experience of working in a design organisation environment is an advantage
  • Risk management, including escalation, prioritization and resolution
