A global MNC specialising in API pumps is searching for a strong, dynamic Regional Sales Manager (API Pumps) to be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. About the Regional Sales Manager (API Pumps) Role: In this business-critical position, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of strategies and tactics for new projects sales and aftermarket services for the API pumps business across certain countries in SEA. You will be tasked to grow the business for the O&G sector with key priority focus in growing FPSO project business while also handling offshore, petrochemicals and refinery segments. Key Responsibilities:
Responsible to manage the sales in the region and managing forecast, business plans, and follow up on open opportunities
Travel to select customers and prospects to develop personal relationships with key contacts, explore opportunities, and solicit inquiries and/or orders. Develop a working knowledge of the customers\xe2\x80\x99 processes, organisation and overall business to gain a competitive selling advantage for the company
Manage and track the sales efforts on quotation activity, profitability levels, pricing trends and quotation success ratios for assigned territories
Prepare and present technical sales presentations to customer decision makers to promote company product offerings and confirm that proposed product(s) comply with the customer requirements or specifications
Pursue and review inquiries from clients for aftermarket parts and services of pumps and field services opportunities to support aftermarket operations
Responsible to report on key information regarding market trends, customers, competitors, pricing or any other industry information that may impact the business
Take the lead on the resolution of key customer problems related to products, delivery or service
Interface with customers and make site visits as necessary to conduct product design reviews and address commercial issues in order to facilitate a customer order commitment
Develop and follow key account management process for all Tier 1 or 2 customers
Take ownership of major projects within the region providing overall strategy to win the business, collaborate with other regions and product managers to be part of cross regional pursuits and sales strategy
Performs distributor and rep goal setting and monthly or quarterly reviews
The successful Regional Sales Manager (API Pumps) should have a strong technical sales background, hunter mindset and good track record in sales. Experience in sales of API pumps and FPSO project experience is mandatory. Key Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
MBA or postgraduate degree will be an added advantage
Minimum of 10 to 15 years of sales experience within the API pumps industry targeting customers in FPSO, oil & gas, petrochemical and refinery
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists
Ability to review customer supplied specifications, P&ID, and data sheets as they pertain to specific job usage and apply to equipment offering to determine best product selections suited for purpose and application
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat as they relate to job usage.
Proficient in target markets or applications for O&G, Power and other Industrial markets.
Highly effective communications and influencing skills with fluency in the English language or other local languages
Demonstrated strong sales skills and ability to succeed in a matrix, team environment
