Your Role and Responsibilities Located in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia a new position has arisen for an ASEAN Regional Tax Manager. The ASEAN Regional Tax Manager will report to the Global Tax Director of non-US Tax Operations. As ASEAN Regional Tax Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of Kyndryl's Tax operations for the ASEAN region. This includes: Overseeing all tax compliance, tax controversy, transfer pricing, tax planning and tax advisory support to Kyndryl's Business Units and Enterprise Support functions. More specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing relationships with external service providers, ensuring the provision to Kyndryl of high quality direct and indirect tax compliance services, transfer pricing compliance services and tax accounting services. The various business units will seek his/her expert advice on tax questions in both a domestic and a cross border context. In the area of tax planning, the successful candidate will be part of the Kyndryl Global tax team, supporting major international M&A transactions and other strategic initiatives. More specifically, the responsibilities and skills for this role will include: Ensuring Kyndryl's on-going compliance with all taxation laws and regulations in the ASEAN , including timely and accurate tax filings and payments, and ensuring appropriate tax positions are adopted. Ensuring accurate recording of Income Taxes & Indirect Taxes for USGAAP and Local GAAP reporting purposes. Providing high quality tax advisory support to Kyndryl's business units and support functions, including working cross functionally with Kyndryl's Legal, Treasury, Finance & Accounting (including Shared Services Centers) teams to meet Kyndryl's strategic and operational tax objectives and initiatives. Managing all tax legislation and controversy developments, including driving lobbying efforts and ensuring legislative and judicial developments are assessed and communicated to internal stakeholders. Tax Authority relationship management, including coordination of tax audits and liaising with Tax Authorities as required. Ensuring compliance with Kyndryl's Tax Controls Framework & Tax Policies and Procedures Working in a globally integrated tax function with a strong tradition in innovation, you will possess strong teaming and communication skills and apply a collaborative mindset. In addition, you will apply a creative approach and continuously seek opportunities for process optimization, including identification of process weaknesses and driving solution implementation. Required Technical and Professional Expertise The ideal candidate should possess strong skills and have an extensive background in Tax Operations, preferably with a combination of in-house experience with a large multinational enterprise and relevant Big 4 experience. You will have in-depth knowledge of corporate income taxes and income tax accounting, indirect taxes, and transfer pricing. You will also hold a working knowledge of Employment Taxes. You will have 10+ years relevant tax experience, with an emphasis on tax operations experiences. You will hold formal qualifications in Accounting/Tax and ideally may possess qualifications in Law as well. Having a commercial outlook, strong business acumen and an awareness of risk are required. Outstanding communication skills in English are a prerequisite. A hands-on approach with attention to detail and a high degree of flexibility is also required, as well as the ability to work under pressure. Preferred Technical and Professional Experience .
