We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Wealth and Personal Banking team in the role of Regulatory Liabilities Manager working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Principal Responsibilities:

The incumbent has to ensure full adherence to deposits related internal policies and local regulatory requirements and handle matters related to WPB Deposits and payments. He/she has the responsibility of managing retail deposit products (inclusive of both LCY and FCY products) to ensure that our Deposit products and services meet the highest level of standards and compliance. The incumbent is required to collaborate with risk stewards, inter-department units and support function teams to develop and refine the governance framework for ongoing monitoring to ensure timely and effective product governance and reporting standards of WPB Deposit products and services.

  • Manage all WPB Deposit department instruction manuals, processes, issues and actions.
  • Review all relevant regulatory guidelines and internal processes and perform gap analysis on an on-going and ad-hoc basis to ensure proper product governance is in place in accordance with WPB FIM and local regulations.
  • Handle and oversee WPB payments related matters.
  • Implement and manage compliance projects
  • Manage and drive Retail Deposits business policies and strategies that contribute to the Bank's profitability in accordance with AOP
  • To work closely with CVM team members to manage the product governance and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Payments Team, Risk Stewards and other key stakeholders for payments related items.
  • Implement and drive governance projects collaboratively with SwD, Transformation, risk stewards and cross-LOB.
  • Coordinate updates to be presented or submitted to governance forums or regulators.
  • To ensure the highest level of support to assist frontline, functions, risk stewards, regulators and other stakeholders.
  • To manage and drive the day to day execution of Retail Deposits governance and monitoring framework.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders while ensuring due observance to the HSBC internal control standards.
  • To provide guidance and share knowledge with other team members to create a cohesive, knowledgeable and productive team.
  • Guide colleagues on the operationalization of the internal guidance.
  • Ensure awareness of compliance / audit requirements and implementation of Group Compliance policies.
  • Maintain awareness of operational risk including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control.
  • By ensuring all BNM Regulations/Policies, ABM rules, PIDM guidelines and other regulatory requirements are followed / implemented.
Requirements

Requirements:
  • Degree graduate with multiple years of experience in driving retail banking business in product management preferably in managing a sizeable liabilities portfolio.
  • Experience in deposits product management is preferred.
  • The candidate will need to be numerically strong, good in interpersonal skill and is able to work as a team.
  • Has experience in managing a team to deliver proven results in an organisation.
  • Effective strategic thinking and problem solving ability; demonstrated experience in translating this thinking and customer centricity into practical business results.
  • Strong communication skills, good team player and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and motivate people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Results orientated with proven track record, self-directed, change leader, high energy and strong execution skills.
  • Analytically sound, the role holder will have an inquisitive nature to understand insights in terms of propositions and trends and form insights to help identify opportunities for growth.
